Layer 7 Public Sector CTO to Co-Present with DISA at Management World Americas 2010 Conference

Layer 7 Technologies, the leader in security and governance for SOA and cloud, today announced that Public Sector CTO Adam Vincent will be presenting at the TM Forum (News - Alert) Management World Americas 2010 conference on November 9 in Orlando, Fla. He will speak alongside a senior technology official from DISA as part of the Defense Spotlight track. The session will address the benefits of a policy-based approach to managing complex information sharing among government agencies.

What: Policy Enabled Net-Centric Information Sharing-As integration frameworks, Web Services and Restful applications adequately address how applications get exposed and communicate via SOAP/XML to exchange information with one another in a platform-agnostic way. In real-world applications, however, security, reliability, routing, bandwidth conservation, versioning and other requirements need to be dealt with and in turn severely impact the loosely coupled nature of net-centric services. This presentation will illustrate how through policy-enablement, multiple conflicting constraints and capabilities can be reconciled, managed and constantly monitored.

Join Layer 7 for Federated SLA Catalyst Demonstration

Layer 7 will also be showcasing its Catalyst project title "Secure, Federated Service Level Management" at Forumville for the duration of the conference. Championed by the NATO C3 (News - Alert) Agency (NC3A) and the UK MOD Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), this is the second phase of the "Federated SLA" Catalyst project that uses crisis situations to demonstrate rapid establishment of communication services across a multi-national coalition.

This Catalyst tackles concepts such as dynamic discovery of services and creation of complex service value chains based on discovered elementary national contributions; secured information exchange across the coalition partners on a multi-lateral basis; and automated end-to-end service management.

The Catalyst program is TM Forum's innovative approach to launching and creating leading-edge solutions. A Catalyst begins with one or more service providers placing their requirements on the table. The multi-company, multi-national teams then work together using existing and emerging technologies to solve some of the most pressing operational and interoperability issues. Solutions built by Catalyst teams can utilize existing standards or they may launch the creation of a new standard if nothing suitable is available. All of their findings are then fed back into the TM Forum so the industry can use them to integrate across multiple Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products.
