FuseSource to operate as Progress Software's subsidiary(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Software provider Progress Software Corporation (Nasdaq:PRGS) announced on Monday that open source integration and messaging software provider FuseSource Corporation will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary. No financial details were disclosed. According to the company, FuseSource, via a subscription model, provides access to professional open source software based on projects from the Apache Software Foundation. Its subscriptions include certified distributions of Apache Software Foundation projects, professional documentation, enterprise-level support and SLAs, as well as tools to allow management and metering. The company also said that Larry Alston has been named president of FuseSource Corporation. Previously, he served as vice president of marketing and product management at EnterpriseDB, a provider of enterprise-class products and services based on PostgreSQL.
