[October 20, 2010] Call Center To Hire 140 More Workers Tweet Oct 20, 2010 (Albuquerque Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- An end-of-the-year surge in job opportunities is popping up at Sitel Corp.'s call center at the 25! commercial development at Jefferson NE and Interstate 25. Plans call for hiring about 140 workers between now and early December to take incoming calls for two of the Nashville, Tenn.-based company's customers, a digital satellite television provider and a coffee company. The recruitment campaign also has five supervisory positions, called "coaches," that need to be filled. Sitel is holding a job fair today beginning at 10 a.m. at the local center at 4420 The 25 Way NE , next to P.F. Chang's China Bistro. Job candidates can also apply online in the careers section of the company's website, www.sitel.com. Opened in 1999, the center currently has about 715 employees who provide outsourced customer service and technical support for Sitel's corporate customers. The center operates 19 hours a day, closing from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., thus providing employees some leeway in choosing their hours. In a separate recruitment campaign through the Aerotek staffing agency, Sitel plans to hire about 60 seasonal workers to take calls for a prepaid wireless company during a two to four-week period. "It's right during the time when people are activating their cell phone gifts," said Matt Doyle, senior human resources manager at the center. Pay starts around $9-$9.50, with an increase to $10 an hour after six months. Sitel offers benefits, including health care coverage, paid vacation and a 401(k) plan, to employees working at least 35 hours a week.
