Nexaira Announces the HANA MAX High Availability WiMAX Network Adaptor

SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--

Nexaira Wireless Inc., ("Nexaira") (OTCBB: NXWI), today announced "HANA MAX", its High Availability WiMAX (News - Alert) Network Adaptor. HANA™ MAX is a powerful customer premise WiMAX routing device with fully integrated 13 DB gain antenna in a secure tamper proof enclosure. HANA MAX's inclusion of a high gain WiMAX antenna improves signal strength and significantly reduces noise providing superior speed, reliability and network access for WiMAX networks being deployed by companies such as Sprint (News - Alert) and Clear. HANA MAX's built-in management and security features allow it to act as a primary router or provide real time failover for wireless, DSL, T1, or cable network connections. HANA MAX is the newest addition to Nexaira's line of High Availability Routing solutions.

"WiMAX's use of higher frequency decreases signal coverage compared to 3G, which combined with initial deployment of WiMAX today being dependent upon existing 3G cellular tower locations, will result in many customers being out of WiMAX service range. HANA MAX's high gain antenna enables WiMAX service providers, resellers, and systems integrators to offer complete business solutions to customers in search of WiMAX solutions for both primary service as well as having diversity in their network architecture," said Rusty Wright, Vice President of Product Development at Nexaira. "This is the right product at the right time to address the growing market demand for high availability business continuity solutions for applications such as Kiosks, ATMs and replacement of DSL and T1 as the primary service solution." HANA MAX bundles all necessary components into a ruggedized enclosure, including a WiMAX router with connection management and a passive high gain directional antenna, all powered over Ethernet cabling using HANA's power injector (PoE) and ruggedized flame retardant case allowing placement into the building's air plenum.

"HANA MAX addresses a variety of WiMAX deployment issues while potentially generating incremental revenue for the service provider and dramatically boosting customer satisfaction," added Carl Silva, Chief Scientist for Nexaira. "In addition to providing WiMAX speeds, using WiMAX diversity in IT network infrastructure, the HANA MAX will eliminate construction costs of alternate service o building entrance facilities. The mean time to repair (MTTR) of a WiMAX connection is considerably less than wireline, and a business owner's revenue will no longer suffer simply because their wireline network connection failed."

HANA MAX supports WiMAX modems from Sprint and Clear and comes equipped with Nexaira's patent pending i3GUI™ and user-friendly broadband routing firmware, NexWareTM, enabling automatic connection and configuration using both CLI and OMA-DM standards based device management. In addition, HANA MAX offers several other differentiating features, including:

  • 100% router hardware redundancy via VRRP (virtual router redundancy protocol);
  • HANA MAX is fully compatible with Cisco (News - Alert) and Juniper routers;
  • IPSec origination and termination, and GRE origination and termination, to ensure safety of customer information and to reduce the cost of these features in deployment;
  • XtremeSpeed® WAN optimization optimizes connections for WiMAX for the highest possible speeds.
