Myanmar to launch Sky Net DTH and MPS systems in November


YANGON, Oct 07, 2010 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Myanmar will launch Sky Net DTH ( Direct to Home) and Sky Net MPS (Multiplay Service) systems to provide the users nationwide in the first week of November, Shwe Than Lwin Media Co., Ltd said on Thursday.



The Sky Net-DTH covers 100 percent of the country. The international and local TV channels are able to be entertained by using the service, the sources said.

The Sky Net-MPS covers 75 percent of the country and also provides international and local TV channels, Broadband Internet and Voice Over IP and fax services.


The two systems are divided into two types Sky Net-DTH on the move and Sky Net-MPS on the move which can be mobiled and provide not only int'l TV channels but also local TV channels and system of surfing the high rate internet as well as using Voice over IP service even when the passengers are on cars, trains and ships.

The services are provided by MRTV (Myanmar Radio and Television) , Ministry of Telecommunication, Posts and Telegraphs, cooperating with Myanmar private companies such as Yatanarpon Teleport and Shwe Than Lwin Media.
