[October 06, 2010] Logitech collaborates with Avistar, Citrix and HP on HD video communications Tweet Oct 06, 2010 (WORLDWIDE COMPUTER PRODUCTS NEWS via COMTEX) -- IT company Logitech (SWX:LOGN) (NASDAQ:LOGI) announced today at Citrix Synergy in Berlin that it has teamed up with Avistar, Citrix and HP to bring high-definition (HD) video communications to virtual desktops. Logitech said it will preview its new Logitech B990 HD Webcam at the Citrix Synergy event and both Avistar and HP at Citrix Synergy will demonstrate the Logitech B990 HD Webcam virtual desktop communications capabilities from 6 October to 8 October in Avistar booth No. 516 and HP booth No. 202. The device, which is expected to to be available in early 2011, features built-in H.264 technology for onboard encoding, iis compatible with the Avistar C3 Integrator desktop videoconferencing application and enables HD 720p video conferencing in session-based and VDI desktops. According to Logitech, the combined solution will help support thin client terminals such as the HP t5740 Thin Client and other platforms, as well as desktop virtualisation solutions such as Citrix XenDesktop. The Logitech B990 HD Webcam also delivers plug-and-play, enterprise-class reliability, 720p HD video calling and dual-microphone stereo audio. Pricing details were not available.
