Lagos, Sep 13, 2010 (This Day/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- The Moderator of The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, The Rt. Rev. Prof. Emele Mba Uka has given a panacea for religious harmony in Nigeria.

In a goodwill message to Muslims on the occasion of the Eid el- Fitr festival at the end of the Ramadan fasting, the Moderator said that religious harmony could only be guaranteed when religious leaders took up with all seriousness, their responsibility of teaching their followers to observe the law and not take it into their hands. he also stressed the need to promote shared values as contained in their Holy Books and not to emphasise their differences and to appreciate the fact that we all come from one God, no matter our religious affiliations.

Rev. Prof. Uka greeted muslims on the Sallah festival and enjoined them to imbibe the lessons of the Ramadan fast in their daily lives. These, he said, included the spirit of sacrifice, love, honesty and perseverance.

The Moderator prayed for divine intervention in the affairs of the nation in order to enhance peace, stability and development.
