First Quantum Minerals Ltd.: Other Projects Remain Intact (FM)Aug 30, 2010 (SmarTrend News Watch via COMTEX) -- Officials from Canadian mining company First Quantum Minerals Ltd. announced Monday that the income lost from the firm's Frontier mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo will not interrupt any other projects, Reuters reports. Operations at the Frontier mine were suspended after the country's government pulled out its permit. "It doesn't impact our cash resources and flow sufficiently to affect our projects," said CEO Philip Pascall. Pascall added that First Quantum is reviewing legal options since the permit removal has "no legal basis," added Pascall. Shares of the mining company are trading up 4.58% Monday afternoon at $61.37.
