Yahoo Inc. Now Officially Powered by Microsoft Corp.'s Bing (YHOO,MSFT,GOOG)

Aug 24, 2010 (SmarTrend News Watch via COMTEX) -- Yahoo Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) is now reportedly officially powered by Microsoft Corp.'s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Bing Search Engine, Mashable.com reports Tuesday.

The two companies signed a deal over one year ago and now Microsoft owns 28.1% of the online search market as a result, which still trails significantly behind Google Inc.'s (NASDAQ:GOOG) ownership of 65.8% of the market.

The shifts have been in the testing phase for the past month, and the changes are only live in English in the US, though a statement from Microsoft officials said that "other languages [are to] come in the weeks and months ahead." SmarTrend alerted subscribers to take profits in Yahoo! on April 28, 2010 at $16.81, since then the stock fell 19.9%.

We are now watching for any positive developments that could result in a new uptrend signal.

Shares of Yahoo are trading down 1.65% Tuesday afternoon at $13.43, as are shares of Microsoft, which are 0.79% in the red at $24.09.
