BRIEF: Azerbaijani Internet Provider to cover Absheron Peninsula's territory by WiMAX wireless network


Aug 11, 2010 (Trend News Agency - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- In September, WiMAX wireless network of AZQTEL Company will cover the entire territory of Absheron Peninsula, the Company said today.

At present, operations on installation of base stations are under completion, which will also provide radio coverage also in other nearby settlements of this territory.

In September the Company plans delivery of another batch of USB-modems that supports the WiMAX protocol.

Speed and quality of communication depends on the capacityof signal and distance of base station. WiMAX network of the AZQTEL Company today covers the entire territory of Baku.



WIMAX technology is oriented on organizing a symmetric wireless broadband wireless network to the Internet, similar to a wired ADSL, as well as the construction of distributed local area networks in areas with moderate and low buildings, such as suburban estates and country houses.

WIMAX base stations provide a broadband connection with a radius of over 30 kilometers and a capacity that can be compared with a cable connection up to 100 Mbps.
