Ceelox Announces "Compatible With Windows 7" Logo for Its Biometric Unit

TAMPA, FL, Aug 02, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Ceelox, Inc. announced today that through its development relationship with Microsoft Corp., Ceelox's Biometric Unit software for identity authentication across a network utilizing the Windows Biometric Framework has earned the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo for the new operating system. This logo indicates that Microsoft has deemed the product compatible and reliable with Windows 7. Ceelox is a majority-owned operating subsidiary of Nicaragua Rising Inc.

(OTCBB: NCRG) (the "Company" or "Nicaragua").

Ceelox has redesigned their authentication approach to leverage the recent capability of Windows 7. As recognized by Microsoft,(1) Biometrics is an increasingly popular technology that provides convenient access to systems, services, and resources. Biometrics relies on measuring an unchanging physical characteristic of a person to uniquely identify that person. Fingerprints are one of the most frequently used biometric characteristics, with millions of fingerprint biometric devices that are embedded in personal computers and peripherals.

In Windows 7, the Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) provides support for fingerprint biometric devices through a new set of components.

These components improve the quality, reliability, and consistency of the user experience for customers who have fingerprint biometric devices.

The Windows 7 operating system provides native support for fingerprint biometric devices through WBF. This framework provides support for biometric technologies.

To enable the functionality provided in Windows 7, Ceelox developed a solution to extend the Windows Biometric Framework across a network to support enterprise scenarios. This design allows the creation of a central database to biometrically authenticate a user base distributed across a network. The development is divided into two parts: one, the Ceelox 7 Biometric Unit will be the foundation, utilizing the Windows Biometric Framework, and secondly, each product, starting with Ceelox ID 7, will be enabled through the combined base of the WBF and the Ceelox Biometric Unit.

The architecture resulted in a design, which provided a solution for the Windows Biometric Framework, to support components distributed across a network, while minimizing modifications to the original Windows 7 environment.

"By working with Microsoft, we feel confident that the Ceelox Biometric Unit will provide the foundation for our existing products to utilize the Windows Biometric Framework providing our customers with enhanced functionality and significant value," states Gerry Euston, CEO, Ceelox.
