Ingres selected by Datamatics for BSS portfolio expansion


Jul 29, 2010 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Ingres Corporation, an open source database management company, has today entered into a strategic worldwide partnership with Datamatics Global Technologies GmbH, a provider of technologies and business IT solutions.

Under the partnership, financial details of which were not available, Datamatics in preparation of leveraging its VectorWise technology, will expand its BSS portfolio and migrate its core applications to Ingres Database.

Datamatics has expanded its BSS portfolio and migrated its core solutions to Ingres Database, including its main applications in the aEUR~Order to Cash' sector and aEUR~DSS Document System Solution' for template-based mass document generation.


Ingres VectorWise, a database technology, meets broad business demands to analyse the exploding volumes of data.

In the BSS sector, Datamatics has already exhaustively tested Ingres VectorWise and has reportedly successfully achieved performance increases of up to 10x -- and in one case, even up to 70x -- over its existing database from a leading manufacturer.

Datamatics Global Technologies GmbH (DGTG) is a subsidiary of Datamatics Global Services Limited (DGSL).
