[July 13, 2010] GFI Software takes over Sunbelt to shore up portfolio Tweet (M&A Navigator Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US GFI Software, providing software infrastructure for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), said on Tuesday it had bought US Sunbelt Software for an undisclosed sum to add Sunbelt's VIPRE products to its web security portfolio and boost customer base. Sunbelt Software provides Windows security software such as enterprise antivirus, antispyware, email security, and malware analysis tools. Sunbelt's software distribution operations will be disposed into a separate unit and the company will seek other strategic alliances.
