'Yota licence does not support LTE services - regulator'May 31, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Russian WiMAX operator Scartel, working under the Yota brand, cannot provide LTE connections with its existing licence, reports Dp.ru. Russian telecoms regulator Roskomnadzor announced that Yota's licence was issued for the provision of WiMAX services. Igor Torgov, managing director of Scartel, told the RIA Novosti agency that the licence did not include an exact definition of the technology permitted.
