Frederick County, Maryland Health Department Chooses eMedischedule.com to Provide Customized Online Scheduling

May 28, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- eMedischedule.com, a provider of online clinic scheduling and medical scheduling technology, has been selected by the Frederick County Health Department in Frederick, Maryland, to provide customized online scheduling and automated virtual call center technology to support its clinic and office scheduling needs.

In a release, the Company noted that Frederick County Health Department will use eMedischedule.com's Web-based scheduling system to book appointments for future public health clinics, including seasonal influenza vaccinations. Patients will also be able to make appointments through eMedischedule.com's automated virtual call center, the company's proprietary integrated voice response (IVR) appointment system.

eMedischedule.com said that its automated phone system enables patients to dial a dedicated local or a toll-free number to request appointments. Appointments are updated in real-time in eMedischedule.com's online system. Through the call center, patients are guided through public health department-defined clinical options such as classifying themselves based on age and various medical conditions. They will then receive a PIN code, enabling them to manage their appointments and information through the health department's website or through the virtual call center. The online system is expected to be available to patients of the Frederick County Health Department in June 2010.

"We believe that working with eMedischedule.com will enable patients to more easily schedule appointments while enabling the health department to allocate staff more efficiently," said Barbara Rosvold, Director, Office of Public Health Preparedness & Response for the Frederick County Health Department.

"Last year, healthcare providers found themselves stretched thin by the influx of patients seeking H1N1 vaccinations. Many distributed vaccinations to thousands of patients in only a few weeks, with each patient having to set an appointment via telephone through a staff member. This can be very cumbersome for staff," said Taylan Saydar, CEO of eMedischedule.com. "eMedischedule.com's online scheduling software enables patients to schedule their own appointments online, or over the phone via automated virtual call center. eMedischedule.com also provides automated phone and SMS reminders."
