BRIEF: Have a Heart Run to benefit Community Action

May 20, 2010 (Skagit Valley Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Skagit County Community Action Agency is holding the first Have a Heart Run at Edgewater Park in Mount Vernon at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The certified 10K run and 2-mile walk is the first agencywide fundraiser Community Action has ever held.

Community Action Fund Development Manager Susan Lange predicted about 200 runners will participate, collecting about $15,000 for Community Action.

Lange said the run has been certified by Skagit Runners, which allows participants to track their time and distance accurately year after year.

Registration is $35 and will take place from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. on race day.
