[May 20, 2010] Swedish Cybercom develops live broadcasting solution for mobile phones Tweet (Nordic Business Report Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) 20 May 2010 - Swedish IT consultancy Cybercom Group Europe AB (STO: CYBE) said today that it developed a solution to view a real-time feed from a mobile phone on a news site. The solution, which will have its debut at the Lund Carnival this weekend in Sweden, has been developed with Swedish-Japanese mobile-phone maker Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, which donated the phones. Swedish telecoms major TeliaSonera AB (STO: TLSN) contributed the subscriptions, while US software developer Mashmobile Inc and live video mobile service provider Bambuser stand behind the technology. The cost is much lower than with current technology, Mattias Johansson, business developer at Cybercom Sweden South, adding that the company already received requests from newspapers. In this method, the mobile phones are transformed from terminals into servers that allow a designated website to connect and display video as it is recorded. The geographic location of the reporter is shown, and still images can be downloaded from the mobile phone during broadcasting.
