May 20, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Time Warner Cable and Univision Communications, Inc., announced the availability of Univision's exclusive Spanish-language airing of the 2010 FIFA World Cup games on Lo Mejor On Demand (LMOD), Time Warner Digital Cable's Hispanic Free On Demand (FOD) channel with original Spanish-language content from the top Hispanic networks.



The Companies noted games will be available on demand from June 12 to August 11.

To honor Hispanics' everlasting passion for soccer, Time Warner Cable Deportes and Univision said they will also host a grand event at The Home Depot Center Tennis Stadium in Los Angeles on May 14 to bring the longest running show in the world and the entertainment/variety program, Univision's "Sabado Gigante" (Giant Saturday), to the public in the area of Los Angeles. To celebrate the anticipation for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup games, legendary Univision personality Don Francisco will broadcast a special taping of his show. Guest appearances will include "Sabado Gigante's" "El Chacal" and La Cuatro, as well as a special musical performance.

Lo Mejor On Demand is available at no extra cost to Time Warner Digital Cable customers in Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas, New York City, Carolinas, and the North East regions. Univision noted its Spanish-language airing of all 64 2010 FIFA World Cup games will be available on LMOD 24 hours after they air and a month after the final match in addition to all of Mexico's first round games, including the inaugural match between Mexico and South Africa, and the semi-finals and final matches in HD.
