Southern California Telephone Company Delivers WI FI Hotspot Services to John Wayne Airport

(Market Wire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) TEMECULA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/13/10 -- Southern California Telephone Company (SCTC) a competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) has successfully launched its WI FI Hotspot services at Santa Ana's John Wayne Airport. The Company's CEO Greg Michaels said, "This was an important project for SCTC. John Wayne is said to have the nation's busiest terminals and the Airport was lacking in wireless internet offerings. Our WI FI team did an outstanding job in bringing this project to market. In less than sixty days; from conception to deployment, our team was able to launch our tower which broadcasts internet services to the terminals." Passengers waiting at the terminals in Santa Ana California's the John Wayne Airport, have desired WI FI or Wireless internet services for quite some time now. "Internet services at airports in today's digital age are vital to the fast pace our society demands information and responses. We have become accustomed to having access all of the time," says SCTC VP of Operations Kevin Reno. Almost 50 percent of business travelers surveyed have stated that the one amenity they would choose over food would be WI FI internet services.

Southern California Telephone Company has heard the call at John Wayne and has responded accordingly. Currently the company offers speeds of 1.5 Megabytes download and 256 Kilobytes upload to its users at the airport. "As long as a customer has a wireless device and a credit card they can access the SCTC network," says Michaels, the Company's CEO. It is a pay per use service where a user signs into an online encrypted secure system and pays for use with a credit card. Once users log in, they can access and utilize the same account information at any location inside the airport terminals as well as any WI FI hotspot location Southern California Telephone Company offers services. The pricing plans are as follows: hourly at $4.95 per hour, daily at $6.95 per day and monthly at $24.95 per month. These pricing models are set competitively lower than other carriers in similar markets.

Today business and recreational travelers at John Wayne Airport can now find WI FI services offered by Southern California Telephone Company in all lounges and terminals at the airport. Martin Moreno, the company WI MAX engineer, stated, "We wanted to offer services to everyone, so we engineered a solution that would hit nearly all the terminals and lounges." Although United Airlines and American Airlines have internet services in their lounges, demand for a comprehensive wireless internet solution was far from satisfied until Southern California Telephone Company delivered its services.

John Wayne Airport is owned and operated by the County of Orange. The Orange County Board of Supervisors oversees the management of the airport. The Airport runs as a 24-hour, 365 days a year facility. The airport facilities include 337,000 square feet of terminal buildings.
