Buffalo Technology powers up notebooks with latest internal SSD storage

May 12, 2010 (Al-Bawaba via COMTEX) -- Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage, wireless networking and memory solutions, announces the launch of the Buffalo MicroStation(TM) Internal SATA Solid State Disk Drives (SSD), its latest offering for individuals on the go looking for an upgrade in performance for their notebooks. .

According to Jasem Al Roomi, Director at Buffalo Advantec FZCO, the new Buffalo MicroStation(TM) Internal SSD caters to users that are looking for faster system performance, IT savvy mobile workers who needs the robustness and low power consumption or, early adopters who want to enjoy the benefits of SSD technology upgrade.

SSD storage is robust as they have no moving parts, making it silent and more resilient to physical vibration and temperature fluctuations. This also makes it extremely reliable and perfectly suited for portable environments, such as laptops. SSD's lower power consumption is also seen as an advantage for mobile workers who often battle with battery life, while the device's faster read/write speeds over the traditional hard disk drives (HDD) allows users to benefit from better performance and quicker access to data.

Buffalo's MicroStation(TM) Internal SSD with USB port gives users longer battery life, faster response times, more durability and an all round better user experience. Available with four capacities, and with a 64MB DRAM cache, the drive performance can reach 80MB/s read speeds for the 32GB model, and up to 240MB/s read and 190MB/s write speeds with the 256GB model. To further enhance the performance of the drive, the MicroStation Internal SSD also includes the Buffalo Tools suite of complimentary software, TurboPC and Turbo Copy, which help to increase file transfer and copy times.

"As the trend for internal SSD storage begins to pick up, our latest offering allows customers to easily upgrade their storage and experience the benefits of SSD," Al Roomi added. "With the same industry standard dimensions as a 2.5-inch HDD, upgrading to SSD could not be easier." The USB port and included software offer an easy, painless, data migration from your existing hard disc without the need for expert knowledge or knowhow.(C) 2010 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com)
