Village Green Global's Environmental Training Course Results in 100 Percent Job Offers for Graduates

IRVINE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Village Green Global, Inc. is proud to announce the overwhelming success of its Environmental Evaluation Monitoring & Verification (EEM&V) job training program at East L.A. College. The five-week intensive training course, which enrolled 33 students, resulted in all students being offered business and employment opportunities in the green sector. With the increasing pressure on enterprises to improve their environmental impact, it is critical for them to employ a trained professional that understands energy management and has the skills to manage it efficiently.

The course, which was conducted by Village Green Founder and CEO Doug Smith, covered specific skills such as environmental management, energy efficiency, occupational health, risk management, analyzing electrical and HVAC devices, insulation, air quality, and techniques of on-site data collection. Students also became proficient in calculating the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of buildings and learned best practices for assisting building owners to better understand how to reduce energy costs and GHG emissions.

"The Environmental EM&V course is a vital addition to our curriculum and demonstrates a forward-thinking and practical approach to education," said Selina Chi, Dean of Resource Development and Community Relations at East L.A. College. "We are proud to offer our students useful experience in an emerging industry, and to be shaping professionals that can improve our environmental impact."

Training utilized Village Green's SaaS (News - Alert) software tool - SMARTweb® - to help the students master sustainability recommendations. With pressure for organizations to manage their carbon footprint and contribute to environmental improvements, it becomes necessary for enterprises to have a meaningful and measureable understanding of their environmental impact. Village Green's training program provides businesses with professionals that truly understand how to manage environmental impact, reduce energy costs and GHG emissions.

"One of the most exciting aspects of the EEM&V course was that students were given the chance to conduct live audits at local businesses," said Smith. "During this process, the students identified a year-one savings of over $50,000 for the eight participating businesses. Collectively, these businesses would need to earn over $400,000 in gross revenue to benefit from the same result to their bottom line."
