SAVANT Sponsoring Robert Madonna Tour with Apple iPad

OSTERVILLE, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- Savant Systems LLC, having delivered ROSIE™, the first Apple (News - Alert)®-based home automation and control system, has announced that company founder Robert Madonna is planning to tour all major US markets and personally demonstrate the company's groundbreaking control application for Apple's iPad™. Madonna foresees that the iPad, coupled with Savant's control and audio/video distribution hardware, will revolutionize every segment of the control industry. The tour will commence at Savant's NYC Experience Center on April 5th and conclude in Miami on April 15th.

"Imagine the power and convenience of a slender 9.7-inch touch screen that weighs less than two pounds and integrates complete home control and entertainment with Internet access and stunning graphics," said Madonna. Housed in an aluminum casing, the multi-touch Apple iPad will enable users of Savant's control products to take advantage of the iPad's vast native features as well as operating as a touch panel within the Savant Systems automation environment. The iPad will operate both wirelessly and as an in-wall or desktop device thanks to proprietary in-wall and tabletop docks currently in development by Savant that will also serve to charge the iPad's internal battery.

Savant has transformed the iPad into a portable control device capable of functionality never before envisioned for the tablet format, including compatibility with Savant's TrueImage Control™ with GestureTouch™ technology. Users can gracefully swipe images on the iPad to control lighting and other automated features in their home. Although Savant's existing iPhone (News - Alert) app will be compatible with the new iPad, Savant is designing an app specifically for the new device in order to take full advantage of the iPad's expansive surface area.

TrueImage Control™ and GestureTouch™ Navigation The ROSIE iPad app will be designed specifically to support the ultimate user interface Savant's TrueImage Control,™ with iPhone™-like GestureTouch™ navigation, which allows you to touch or swipe actual images of your home to turn on/off (or dim) lights, lower or raise shades, or even turn on and off home theater vignettes.

Savant will have an application available for the Apple iPad, and because the company is an Apple Authorized Reseller and a part of Apple's Proprietary Solutions Provider Program, they will be reselling the device through their authorized dealer network. The ROSIE iPad app will become available for download from the Apple app store for $9.99.
