Expand Networks unveils ExpandView Virtual

Mar 17, 2010 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- WAN optimisation technology provider Expand Networks has announced the launch of ExpandView Virtual.

The company said ExpandView is a centralised management system that overcomes the challenges associated with large scale deployment, configuration, reporting and alerting across its range of physical and virtual Accelerator devices, within physical or virtual environments.

According to the company, the solution delivers 'Application fluent network visibility' to optimise application performance and bandwidth utilisation and provides 'trend analysis reporting' to warn of, and control, potential capacity challenges.

ExpandView Virtual is particularly suitable for enterprises with a centralised data centre environment running virtual servers. Its ability to be deployed as an image on a virtual machine overcomes the challenges associated with installation, configuration and management presented by heterogeneous hardware environments and operating system configurations.

The solution allows for rapid provisioning, scalability and ease of management, enabling organisations to more effectively and efficiently deploy, configure and manage Expand Accelerators, virtual or physical, in this way removing complexity, increasing productivity and reducing total cost of ownership.

ExpandView Virtual is also suited for telcos, managed service providers and cloud providers offering WAN optimisation-as-a-service; grid computing solutions and cloud based services.

In addition, its Virtual Customer Partitioning (VCP) capability enables services to scale easily, allowing organisations to support as many Accelerators as required by running multiple instances of ExpandView Virtual. Enabling a virtual instance of ExpandView per customer on a single hardware platform decreases the dedicated hardware footprint, reduces cost and simplifies management for service providers.

No pricing details were disclosed.
