[March 16, 2010] Verizon expands wireless coverage in Oakland, California Tweet Mar 16, 2010 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- US provider of wireless communication services Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Oakland, California, the company announced on Monday. The new cell site reportedly expands 3G wireless coverage in the Oakland area north on MacArthur to Maple Street, south to Highway 580, east on 35th to Sutter and west to Jordan. The company said that with this expansion, its ongoing network investment in California now totals approximately USD5.7bn. Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ) and Vodafone (LSE:VOD)(Nasdaq: VOD).
