Bluesocket Donates Wireless LAN Technology to a Haitian Hospital to Help Relieve Stressed Communications(Market Wire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BURLINGTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 03/12/10 -- Bluesocket, Inc. On Saturday, March 6th, a jetliner donated by Dow Chemical and fueled by Exxon flew to Haiti with a team of local doctors, nurses and supplies including surgical equipment, clothes, used cell phones, solar cell phone chargers and telecommunications gear. A Bluesocket engineer flew down with the team to set up the company's award-winning technology, which included internal access points and external point-to-multipoint access points. The externally positioned access points are weather resistant to cope with the extreme temperatures of the region. The Bluesocket technology will allow the doctors to communicate with each other internally over the hospital network and to access the external internet via a satellite dish. The network and internet access will enable the doctors to consult with each other, from across two buildings in the hospital, and to order supplies and discuss cases with their colleagues back in the US.
