[March 02, 2010] Citrix announces new WAN optimisation appliance Tweet Mar 02, 2010 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Citrix Systems Inc (Nasdaq: CTXS), a provider of network appliances and virtualisation solutions, yesterday announced the availability of its new Citrix Branch Repeater VPX, a WAN optimisation virtual appliance that is capable of providing a high definition desktop and application experience to large numbers of users. The company also announced the availability of its new Citrix Access Gateway VPX, a virtual appliance that is designed to provide secure access to remote and local users. According to Citrix, the new appliances, which can be used in conjunction with its Citrix NetScaler products, are intended to extend the benefits of server and desktop virtualisation to virtual network services running at both the datacenter and the branch office. Citrix Access Gateway VPX is available now and Citrix Branch Repeater VPX will be released later this month. Pricing details were not disclosed. An Express version of both appliances is expected to be made available for free download later in the year, the company said.
