Accuris Networks announces new mobile data offload solution

Feb 15, 2010 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Accuris Networks, an Irish provider of inter-standard and convergence solutions, has announced a new mobile data offload solution to assist mobile operators make mobile broadband services more profitable.

Data offload allows mobile operators to direct subscribers to Wi-Fi partners for mobile broadband services while keeping them on network.

Accuris Network claims that its AccuROAM product enables data offload to Wi-Fi and WiMAX using SIM-based authentication with existing mobile networks. It includes full billing, settlement and reconciliation between the IP-based network and the mobile billing environment.

As the system was implemented with IMS in mind, AccuROAM evolves with operator's network becoming IMS applications servers.

Gilbert Little, chairman of Accuris Networks, said: "Data heavy 3G and mobile broadband applications are putting increased pressure on mobile operators. By using mobile data offload, operators can cost effectively meet the growing demand for bandwidth while providing customers with high speeds.

"Most importantly, this ensures that mobile operators keep control of their subscribers when they are on Wi-Fi networks. This means they can continue to deliver their services rather than lose out to over-the-top service providers." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
