Past AOL Veteran to Join the Executive Team at KickApps

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- KickApps, the industry's first complete Social Software Solution, today announced the hiring of Marc Hollander as Executive Vice President, Technology. Hollander brings over twenty-five years' experience building world-class technology organizations and highly scalable rich media platforms to his new role.

KickApps has experienced tremendous growth over the past two years with now over 300 Enterprise customers and over 100,000 mid-tier publishers, web developers and small business operators from around the world who have accessed the KickApps platform on a self-serve basis. Hollander will be responsible for expanding technical operations globally to answer the continued global demand for KickApps products and services. In this role, he will collaborate with Rahul Daterao, the company's long time CTO in New York City and Mumbai, and Ceco Gakovic, who heads the company's Innovations group and Yuku division in Silicon Valley.

"I've known Marc for more than 10 years and worked alongside him while he led the AOL (News - Alert) Entertainment Engineering Group," said Alex Blum, CEO of KickApps. "Marc's background and extensive knowledge in applications development, team collaboration and process is core to our continued growth and success. We look forward to the impact he will have on our continued ability to innovate and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction as we prepare for the next wave of growth in our business." "I've always derived great satisfaction from being able to use technology, experience and people to deliver best breed of products that have a positive impact on peoples' lives," stated Hollander. "KickApps is unique in the on demand social software space because its technology is a disruptive force providing clients highly customized, media rich, community websites with tremendously attractive ROI - especially when compared with the high cost of traditional application construction. I look forward to contributing to the widespread adoption of our products and services we'll release to what will surely delight our customers and the ever growing global community. I especially relish working again with Alex and so many other familiar faces that were pivotal to our substantial shared past success." Hollander previously led the AOL Entertainment Engineering Group, a team spanning six locations, and was responsible for the architecture and development of some of the world's most passionately used applications including Moviefone, AOL Music, AOL & Netscape Radio, AOL Games and TV applications, CompuServe Welcome Page, and many other applications as well as a suite of web services. He joined AOL as part of the Moviefone, Inc. acquisition and took Moviefone from a startup to an organization that was valued at $130 million at IPO to $550 million at time of acquisition by America Online.
