Numerex expands into Canada with agreement with Rogers WirelessFeb 10, 2010 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Provider of secure machine-to-machine (M2M) products and services Numerex Corp (Nasdaq: NMRX) has entered into a long-term agreement with Rogers Wireless, a Canadian wireless provider, which is expected to further enable the expansion of Numerex's M2M business in Canada. The company said on Tuesday that the agreement, financial details of which were not disclosed, will allow the provision of extended capabilities to current Numerex customers, including access to General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and potential access to High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA). Numerex also stated that its GSM initiatives in Canada include high data rate transfers that are well adapted to the growing needs of the M2M customer.
