Huawei Gears Up in Europe, North AmericaSHENZHEN, Feb 03, 2010 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. obtained revenues of USD 10.3 billion in 2009, rising 40% from USD 7 billion the year before. Its shipment of cell towers reached 500,000, accounting for 29% of the world's total, and the proportion was only 1% less than that of Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC). In the year, Huawei participated in the construction of 42 LTE experimental networks around the world, including the global first LTE commercial network built in Oslo, Norway for TeliaSonera. Besides, Huawei won six LTE contracts respectively from Telenor Group of Norway, Belgacom Group of Belgium, and Net4Mobility of Sweden. In the domestic market, the company was licensed to build a TD-LTE demonstration network for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Meanwhile, Huawei took the largest market share in India with its GSM products, and became the CDMA network equipment supplier of Leap Wireless International Inc.
