[January 19, 2010] GCN To Honor Public Sector Technology Innovations with 2010 Best of FOSE Awards Tweet FALLS CHURCH, Va. --(Business Wire)-- FOSE 2010, the most comprehensive event for government information technology (IT) professionals, today announced the call for nominations for the Government Computer News (GCN) Best of FOSE Awards. Recognizing outstanding new IT products exhibited at the show, the competition measures leadership in IT innovation across a broad range of categories, including best handheld devices, security software, and overall Best of Show. "This year saw great advances in mobile computing, security, and storage, among other technologies," said Wyatt Kash, editor-in-chief of GCN. "At FOSE, we have the opportunity to test some of the most innovative products available to the government. Last year we considered more than 115 products and recognized 14 companies. The GCN Best of FOSE Awards are open to any FOSE 2010 exhibiting company that will be showcasing a new product to be used in the public sector. GCN's editors and technology analysts review the new products during FOSE show hours and choose winners in 15 categories based on four criteria: innovation; usability/applicability to government; relative performance based on specifications; and value. An additional award will also be considered for a first-time FOSE exhibitor. The deadline for submissions is February 19, 2010. Winners will be announced March 24, 2010 on the FOSE show floor and at GCN.com. Products will be profiled in the April 5, 2010 issue of GCN.
