'Romanian regulator finds irregularities at 20 operators'Jan 08, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- A total of 20 Romanian operators, including their distributors, have been found by Romanian regulator Ancom to be inconsistent with regulations on providing a minimum set of information to clients. The biggest number of deviations were registered at sales points or partners of Orange Romania, Cosmote Romania and RCS&RDS, according to the results of a nationwide investigation conducted by the telecommunications authority between 26 October and 13 November 2009. Of the 178 irregularities found at operators' sales points or their partners' outlets, 54 were at Orange, 30 at Cosmote, 11 at RCS & RDS, nine at Romtelecom, eight at Vodafone Romania, seven at Telemobil and Combridge, sux at Digicom Systems, Idilis, New Com Telecomunicatii and UPC, five at Atlas Telecom Network Romania, four at Nextgen Communication, Thomas Hook Communications Romania and Trans Tel Services, three at Canal S and Datek Telecom, two at Intersat and Net-Connect Internet and one deviation at Euroweb Romania. Failing to comply with the above-mentioned regulation may result in fines of up to 5 percent of a company's yearly turnover.
