'PayByPhone supplies Paris suburb m-parking system'
Dec 18, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) --
US m-payment company PayByPhone has introduced France's first car
parking mobile payment system in the Parisian suburb of
Issy-les-Moulineaux. The system works with all operators and all mobile
phones. First time users submit their car licence plate number and bank
card details over the internet or mobile phone. After parking their
car, they connect to paybyphone's mobile website or call its voice
server, input a parking zone code, and confirm their vehicle and how
long they want to park. Users can reconnect or call at any time to
extend or reduce their parking time, and can be alerted by SMS five
minutes before their time expires. Parking attendants have been
equipped with PDA terminals to check whether vehicles without a pay and
display ticket have used the mobile system. PayByPhone's m-payment
service is used in 180 cities worldwide, including for bicycle rental
services in Nice and Cannes.
