[December 11, 2009] Voltaire Unveils Plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager Tweet Dec 11, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Voltaire, a provider of scale-out data center fabrics, announced the Voltaire Grid Control Plug-in, a software-based plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager. The company said the plug-in enables management, monitoring and analysis of Voltaire's InfiniBand I/O fabrics in Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) Database environments. The combination of Voltaire's new Plug-in, Grid Director InfiniBand switches and Oracle RAC Database, according to a release, provides a database consolidation platform. Voltaire noted in a release that it developed the Grid Control Plug-in in response to the growing demand for Voltaire InfiniBand as the I/O interconnect in Oracle RAC implementations. Voltaire said its Plug-in works with Oracle Enterprise Manager environments. "The Voltaire Plug-in for Oracle Enterprise Manager brings Voltaire's rich and comprehensive set of I/O fabric management features to Oracle RAC environments resulting in better manageability and lower cost," said Asaf Somekh, vice president of marketing, Voltaire. "The solution gives database administrators the tools to track and improve the functioning of the InfiniBand fabric with the ultimate goal of ensuring the performance and availability of the databases they are managing."
