Altera's Stratix IV GT FPGAs Wins Best Product Award at EDN China's 2009 Innovation Awards


Mar 25, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Altera announced its 40-nm Stratix IV GT FPGAs were recognized by EDN China with its "Best Product Award." According to Altera, the company was presented with the award at EDN China's Innovation Award ceremony, which took place during the 2009 Innovation Conference held in Shenzhen, China on November 18. The Stratix IV GT FPGA is a single-chip device that meets the high-speed bandwidth requirements for framer, MAC, bridging and switching applications for 100-Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 100-Gigabit Optical Transport Networks (OTN).

"As the only programmable devices with integrated 11.3-Gbps transceivers, Stratix IV GT FPGAs are suited to meet the demands of today's high-bandwidth applications and we are happy to present Stratix IV GT FPGAs with our Best Product Award," said Jeff Lu, editor-in-chief of EDN China. Stratix IV GT FPGAs are optimized specifically for the latest generation of 40G and 100G applications used in communications systems, test equipment and military communications systems. Stratix IV GT FPGAs feature up to 48 integrated transceivers with 32 that operate up to 11.3 Gbps, delivering the industry's highest bandwidth available on a programmable device. Stratix IV GT FPGAs feature up to 530K logic elements (LEs), 20.3-Mbits internal RAM and 1,288 18x18 multipliers.
