'MTS adds 300,000 customers in October'(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Russian and CIS mobile operator MTS' subscriber base totaled 97.16 million at the end of October, up by 9.8 percent year-on-year and up 0.3 percent from September. The subscribers base in Moscow dropped by 3.8 percent from a year ago to 13.81 million, but was up 19.0 percent in the St Petersburg region to 3.67 million and by 10.5 percent in the rest of Russia to 68.91 million. MTS Ukraine reported 17.74 million subscribers, down by 2 percent year-on-year. MTS Uzbekistan posted 30.1 percent growth to 6.9 million, while MTS registered a 92.4 percent increase in customers in Turkmenistan to 1.57 million. MTS Belarus posted 4.51 million customers, up by 7.3 percent, and MTS registered 2.04 million subscribers in Armenia, up by 8.3 percent.
