'Comstar leads Russian broadband market in September with 11%'Nov 23, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- The Russian residential broadband market is still dominated by Comstar, which added 25,000 subscribers in September to reach a customer base of 1.155 million, taking its market share in terms of subscribers to 11 percent, according to a report by Advanced Communications & Media. Runner up is Centertelecom, which had 1.011 million subscribers (10 percent market share) in September, that is 78,800 users more than in August. Next are Vimpelcom with 931,700 subscribers (9 percent), Volgatelecom with 832,000 subscribers (8 percent), ER-Telecom with 806,000 subscribers (8 percent), North-West Telecom with 770,600 subscribers (8 percent), Akado with 633,000 subscribers (6 percent), Uralsvyazinform with 618,000 subscribers (6 percent), Sibirtelecom with 486,200 subscribers (5 percent) and Southern Telecom with 475,000 subscribers (5 percent). Of all the operators, ER-Telecom added the second highest number of additions after Centertelecom in September, namely 43,000, while Akado was the only operator reporting no additions as compared to August.
