[November 23, 2009] 'Huawei to upgrade Belgacom network' Tweet Nov 23, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Chinese equipment maker Huawei will gradually upgrade Belgacom's entire radio access network with its SingleRAN application. The SingleRAN application enables the same base station to support both GSM, UMTS as well as future technology LTE. Under the terms of the agreement, Belgacom will in the long term upgrade its entire radio access network, The upgrade concerns 3000 base stations which are to replace existing facilities.
