Zain named best mobile operator in ME

(TradeArabia Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Telecom giant Zain was named the best mobile operator in the Middle East.

It won three of the most prestigious prizes at the Third Annual Telecoms World Awards Middle East in Dubai, organised by Terrapinn.

The company won the prize for best operator, best brand and was deemed to have the best technical innovation for its ground breaking, borderless 'One Network' service.

'Zain is at the very top of its game in many ways. It has robustly addressed customer needs in terms of quality, reliability and service,' said the four-member judging panel.

The awards recognise outstanding performance in 11 key areas throughout the Middle East telecommunications industry, and the key players that have helped turn it into one of the most dynamic and vibrant in the world.

'We have an excellent track record across all our operations, matched with a brand that has caught the imagination of the whole region,' commented Zain Group chief executive Dr Saad Al Barrak.

'In 'One Network' we have a product that is not only innovative, but has also changed the way people live and contribute to their prosperity.

'We have a just over two years to reach our goal of being one of the top 10 global mobile operators and this level of recognition can only spur us on to achieve this ambition.' Being named best operator ahead of many regional players meant that Zain had been judged on its strong service portfolio, technological innovation, sound management, strategic direction and scope for future development.

In the best brand category, judges found that, within only two years of its launch, Zain has not only created a compelling brand for its products or services, but it had raised brand awareness and positive impact on market share, valuation and bottom line.

For best technical innovation, Zain's 'One Network', a borderless mobile phone service that enables all Zain customers when travelling in over 20 countries in the Middle East and Africa to be treated as local customers, was once again honoured for breaking down the domination of roaming tariffs wherever it establishes a business presence.-TradeArabia News Service (c) 2009 Al Hilal Publishing & Marketing Group Provided by Syndigate.info an Albawaba.com company
