Thin and light from ToshibaNov 23, 2009 (The Manila Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- To address the demands of everyday mobility, Japan's Toshiba unveiled its new slim laptop products in the country--the Portege Slim Series. Toshiba slim Portege T110 and T130 are among the latest offerings of Toshiba in the market. Measures less than an inch and weighs 1.58kg, the Portege Slim series offers up to 11 hours battery life on a single charge. Equipped with Windows 7, Intel ultra-low voltage processors and hard-drive protection with 3D motion sensor, Toshiba said the new slim laptops have also its performance, flexibility and functionality that consumers have come to expect from a standard notebook PCs. T110 features a 13.3-inch Clear SuperView 16:9 widescreen display while the T130 offers 11.6-inch widescreen display. The new laptops will be available with Toshiba's Fusion Finish in three glossy colors: precious black, iron red and pearl white. "With these features, we believe that it has a winning combination that will bring appeal to customers and drive the success of Portege Slim Series," Siow E Hunt, Toshiba's product marketing specialist, said. On the appliance side, Toshiba also added two new Full HD LCD Series--ZV600 and RV600--to strengthen the entire REGZA LCD TV lineup. The ZV600 Series is consist of three models in different sizes and claimed to be the most sophisticated models Toshiba has ever built for the Asian markets. It features "Meta Brain Premium" with 14-bit video processing, auto view, full glare panel, Audyssey EQ and REGZA woofer, among others. The RV600 Series, on the other hand, is Toshiba's high-end yet more affordable range. It is also consist of three models and features include "Power Meta Brain" with 10-bit video processing, auto view, and Audyssey EQ. "We are quite sure that these products will bring excitement to the Filipino customers," Hiroyuki Ishida, Toshiba Asia Pacific director, said at the product launch held in Makati City recently. At the same product launch, Toshiba announced that it has partnered with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to bring NBA excitement to Filipino fans throughout the NBA season.
