Agilent Bolsters Its Digital Storage Oscilloscope and Digitizer Portfolio

Nov 18, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Agilent Technologies announced it has expanded its digital storage oscilloscope and digitizer portfolio with three new low-profile models in the Infiniium 90008 Series.

According to Agilent, these hybrid instruments offer the highest channel density available in oscilloscope/digitizers, with eight channels that deliver digitizing rates of 40 GSa/s and bandwidths from 8 to 13 GHz - all in a 7U-high package.

Features of the Agilent Infiniium 90008 Series low-profile oscilloscope/digitizers include: - Leveraging technology from the Infiniium 90000 Series oscilloscopes, these new oscilloscope/digitizers offer the industry's lowest noise floor at 40 GSa/s. Full-bandwidth probing solutions and accurate de-embedding and equalization capabilities ensure the best real-time measurement accurcy available for bandwidths of 13 GHz and below.

- Users may offload data for custom analysis on their PCs using an optional high-speed PCIe bus card to transfer data at sustained rates up to 150 MB/s. Device drivers for VxWorks, LabVIEW and Linux, with application code examples for MATLAB, C/C++, Visual Basic, LabVIEW, and LabWindows/CVI software are standard.

- Each eight-channel module boasts two PCs that run application software and provide standard I/O functionality. In addition, custom IDA (Infiniium data accelerator) hardware on the acquisition boards speeds measurements requiring filtering and math algorithms. Up to 1 Gpt of memory per channel supports long time-capture. Available application packages such as the 89601A vector analyzer software can speed scientists' insight into research questions.

Agilent Infiniium 90008 Series oscilloscope/digitizers are available on the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) schedule.
