Advanced Systems Concepts' ActiveBatch 7 Job Scheduler Earns SAP Certified Integration with SAP NetWeaver

Nov 20, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Advanced Systems Concepts, developers of ActiveBatch workload automation and job scheduling software and other solutions that enhance Windows, Linux, UNIX, z/OS and OpenVMS systems among others, announced that ActiveBatch 7 has been certified by SAP AG for integration with the SAP NetWeaver technology platform.

The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that ActiveBatch 7 integrates with the SAP NetWeaver Application Server (SAP NetWeaver AS) component via the background processing and job scheduling 6.10 integration scenario (BC-XBP 6.10). The certification denotes that ActiveBatch 7 automates and manages workflows involving both SAP solutions and non-SAP applications, databases and platforms.

By achieving certified integration with SAP NetWeaver, ActiveBatch 7 gives users a cross-platform job scheduling framework that centralizes the management of all jobs and plans using a single, centralized interface similar to their current dashboard.

Deployed at enterprises in 36 countries, ActiveBatch lets users automate and centrally manage disparate jobs and workflows, including tasks involving the most common operating systems, enterprise business applications and even Web Services. Supporting Windows, UNIX, Linux and OpenVMS platforms and applications, as well as Web Services and SOA, ActiveBatch offers both an event-based architecture and a jobs library of "production-ready" job steps that helps users create and reuse templates and services.

"Advanced Systems Concepts is committed to the continual and aggressive development of ActiveBatch as the best-of-breed job scheduling and workflow management solution. This SAP certification is an important step in that ongoing process," said Jim Manias, VP of Marketing and Sales for Advanced Systems Concepts. "Now, SAP users not only have assurance they can manage their SAP and non-SAP jobs using ActiveBatch, but they also can incorporate ActiveBatch's list of features with the processes of their SAP solutions." With ActiveBatch, users can trigger workflows based on events, other processes, date and time schedules and more. The solution, which offers functionality for alerts, monitoring, constraints and more, is well-suited for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems as well as financial and other legacy application environments.

ActiveBatch 7 integrated with SAP solutions is separately licensed as an extension of the ActiveBatch system.
