SAS Sues World Programming

Nov 20, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- SAS, a developer of business analytics software and services, announced it has filed a lawsuit in the High Court in London against World Programming for breach of license and copyright infringement relating to the use of SAS Learning Edition to develop and test its World Programming System software.

"The lawsuit alleges that World Programming has used the SAS Learning Edition product for purposes of developing, testing and benchmarking its World Programming System software in breach of the terms of the SAS Learning Edition Licensing Agreement," said John Boswell, VP and General Counsel at SAS.

According to SAS, the group is seeking damages and injunctive relief to restrain the unauthorized use of its SAS Learning Edition by World Programming and to prevent the sale and distribution of World Programming System software that has been developed and tested using SAS Learning Edition in violation of its license.
