BRIEF: Nominations sought for Tucson 'teen citizen' award


Nov 20, 2009 (The Arizona Daily Star - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Nominations for young people who have contributed to or made a positive difference in the community are being accepted for the 15th annual "Outstanding Teen Citizen" awards.

Ten youths will be selected by their peers.

One will receive the Metropolitan Education Commission's Crystal Apple Award.


All will be honored at the Crystal Apple award luncheon in April.

Nomination forms and criteria are online at www.tucsonaz.gov/mec or call 670-0055. Nominations must be received by 4 p.m. Dec. 15.

The awards are sponsored by the Metropolitan Education Commission's Youth Advisory Council/Tucson Teen Congress, Tucson Parks and Recreation and Pima Community College Downtown Campus.
