Honeywell Launches Wheatmeal

Abuja, Nov 20, 2009 (Daily Trust/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- In its continued quest to make Nigerians healthier and richer, Honeywell Flour Mills Plc yesterday launched Honeywell wheatmeal into the nation's market. The new product is expected to meet all nutritional and health needs of all Nigerians of all ages.

Speaking during the launch of the product in Lagos, the Executive Vice Chairman of the company, Babatunde Odunayo said the Honeywell wheatmeal is poised to be a nutritious staple in Nigerian homes and is good for the whole family, stressing that the wheatmeal is a healthy ball meal, rich in protein, fibre, minerals and lots of vitamins.

"Honeywell wheatmeal is 100 per cent wheat. It is therefore very rich in protein and fibre which are good for the body. The brand is also rich in minerals and vitamins and plant protein which is why Honeywell wheatmeal is particularly very good for the body", he said Odunayo said the product already has NAFDAC certification and was recently presented with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON)'s mandatory conformity assessment programme award for quality.

He said: "Before the introduction of Honeywell wheatmeal, Nigerians normally consume the ball food by buying raw wheat and griding or milling the wheat into powder form. Of course, this domestic production process further adds to the turnaround time between purchase and consumption. The domestic production process might not also be very hygienic and the quality of the wheat so purchased cannot be guaranteed." Odunayo explained that with the introduction of Honey wheatmeal, consumers are guaranteed hassle free meals, which are made from the highest quality wheat and a world class manufacturing process.

He said the product is not restricted to any particular age group adding that anyone who enjoys ball foods and is desirous of more healthy meals would enjoy it.
