'Start Telecom raises capacity of backbones'


(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Russian telecommunications operator Start Telecom expanded capacity of backbones to several directions. The capacity of the backbone interconnecting Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod has been raised 30 to 50 Gbps, backbones interconnecting Belgorod and Voronezh, as well as Odintsovo-Kaluga have also been modernised, reports Rosinvest.com. The size of the investment is RUB 7.5 million. Capacity of backbones has been raised upgrading additional DWDM line. The operator plans to increase the capacity of the Moscow-Nizhy Novgorod backbone to 80 Gbps in 2010.
