'Swisscom launches Wi-Fi service for smartphones in hotels'


Nov 20, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Swisscom Hospitality Services has launched a Smartphone Wi-Fi service to enable hotel guests to check their e-mail, surf internet and download music and videos to their smartphones in their hotels. The service will be fully integrated with the hotel's property management system (PMS) and offers free access to Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the hotel for their smartphones. The new service allows users to connect to the internet in only three clicks. Once logged on, the guest can stay connected for 24 hours at a time. If he leaves the building, he is automatically re-connected when he comes back into the hotel.

Swisscom's new Smartphone WiFi se! rvice has been optimised for iPhones, Symbian phones, Google Androids and Windows Mobile devices. It is presently available in more than 1,100 partner locations across Europe and ready for rollout across Europe.
