'Opta rules that customers can also opt out of dual play'

Nov 20, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Customers of Dutch ISP Telfort may cancel their dual play subscriptions if there is a change in their VoIP conditions. Telfort is raising rates from 1 May for fixed telephony in its 'Internet en Bellen' package and is giving subscribers the chance to opt-out, as prescribed by law. The telephony subscription would then be cancelled but the ADSL subscription continue. Opta does not agree with the move and has threatened Telfort with a penalty. Telfort has since changed the situation but has launched an appeal of the decision. Opta's interpretation of the Telecommunication ACT will in this case have wide-ranging consequences for dual-play and triple play.
