AME Info, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, aviation briefs [AME Info, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates](AME Info (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 19--ETIHAD BUYS KRONOS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: Etihad Airways has said that it has signed an agreement with Kronos, a workforce management software provider, to automate and optimize planning and management processes for its 3,900 cabin and flight crew members. The new crew planning software system, which includes Altitude Pairing, Altitude Rostering, and Altitude Insight solutions, will enable the carrier to better manage and deploy its crew resources and build more efficient and cost effective crew schedules. EMIRATES INKS GE ENGINE REPAIR MOU: Emirates Airline has signed a memorandum of understanding with GE Aviation, an operating unit of General Electric, to enhance Emirate's repair and testing capabilities on GE90 engines. Under the agreement, Emirates will perform engine module and piece-part breakdown on GE90-115B engines in the region along with GE90-115B engine testing at its Engine Test Facility, while GE will ensure that the carrier has the necessary material and manpower support. RAYTHEON WINS SAUDI CONTRACT: The Saudi Arabia General Authority of Civil Aviation has awarded US-based Raytheon a contract for the installation of 21 air traffic management systems across the kingdom, the Saudi Gazette has reported. The new systems will extend air traffic control surveillance throughout the kingdom and enhance flight safety for the domestic airline sector.
