TPG provides BT Global Services with framework for learning and accreditation

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Projects Group Ltd (TPG) has signed an agreement with BT Global Services for the delivery of TPG's proprietary online Knowledgebase, as an element supporting its organisational drive for training and competence. The Knowledgebase will give around 2500 project and programme managers access to e-learning resources to gain formal accreditations and for self development.

"As part of our initiative to improve overall business performance," explains Graham Hartridge Project Manager for BT Global Services, "We needed to ensure that our whole project and programme management community had access to the skills and accreditations relevant to their roles. In the past, this would have entailed personnel taking blocks of time out of the office for training. TPG's blended learning approach has made learning a part of our workplace, making professional accreditation an attainable goal for even the busiest individuals." Learning materials for all levels of international qualifications, from two day to two year certification courses, are now available globally through TPG's Knowledgebase. It is expected that in excess of 700 PRINCE2 and MSP accreditations will be achieved through the new system by the end of the first quarter 2010. An online 'certification readiness test' has been designed by TPG to ensure that those put forward for exams are ready to pass them - making the process highly efficient with the best possible return on investment.

"BT Global Services believes that competence is about more than achieving formal qualifications," Hartridge continues. "We are pleased that TPG's Knowledgebase includes scope for informal learning. It provides articles, case studies and papers that our project staff can read and benefit from on an ongoing basis." The TPG Knowledgebase is in use right across the BT Global Services organisation, including Europe, USA, South America and Japan. The first phase of accreditations is now underway with pass rates already proving the success of the system.
